Greatest flexibility, highly configurable for each customer
Description
TPU-1 terminals enable two-way transmission of up to 8 teleprotection commands through a digital channel (with electrical or optical interface). Thanks to its modular design, a TPU-1 terminal can be configured to manage one or two channels and, in the case it manages two channels, it can be configured to operate as two independent teleprotection terminals (in a unique shelf) or with a main channel and an alternative backup one.
TPU-1 terminals are IECD61850 compatibles so, in this way, communication between a TPU-1 and a protection device inside a substation can be carried out according to this standard (GOOSE messages). However, if a protection device is not compatible with IEC 61850 standard, TPU-1 terminals can also communicate with it using analog protection interfaces (optoisolated inputs and solid-state relays).
TPU-1 terminals register all alarms and events produced in the teleprotection link. To establish the date and time at which the alarms and/or events are produced, TPU-1 terminal have a real-time clock with the possibility of GPS synchronization by means of an IRIG-B interface.
TPU-1 terminals comply with ANSI C37.90.1 and ANSI C37.90.2 standards.
