This stand-alone asynchronous modem is designed for use with analog Power-Line Carrier systems on the whole band or superimposed band. Data rate and central frequency are selectable from a wide range of values.
The modem is equipped with test devices for a rapid operational check. These devices make it possible to carry out loops and to generate test signals for fault diagnosis and carry out receiver adjustment.
The MAS-2 consists of a shelf that is one standard unit (s.u.) in height and 19" in width, incorporating a single-printed modem board. A 6 S.U. and 19" shelf for rack mounting, with capacity for up to 14 modem boards, is also available (MDD-2 panel).
The modem is based on Digital Signal Processor (DSP) and on programmable logic, and its front plate includes the necessary elements for the adjustment of the transmission and reception levels, the configuration of the modem such as the RTSCTS delay selection, test selection, etc., and the optical indication of the tests and logical signals of the interface.
